A few years ago, Anne-Marie Withenshaw was confronted with the illness and then the death of her father, when he was suffering from a devastating brain cancer. This situation, certainly loaded with emotions, led her to discover the reality of being a caregiver, the subject of her next project.
It is with this in mind, in order to demystify certain preconceived ideas about such care and promote within society this role that is still too little known, the host decided to question certain public figures who are experiencing a similar situation, in a documentary which promises to be very touching and which will soon be available on the Tou.tv Extra platform.
Having been a caregiver herself, and now having to lend a hand to her mother, Anne-Marie punctuates the discussions of When the Roles Are Reversed with pieces of her experience, while seeking to understand what she could have done. to better prepare for it. The title of the documentary could not be better chosen, testifying to the fact that, more often than not, those who raised their children must now count on their support, in multiple facets of daily life. Her journey has also allowed her to meet caregivers of all ages, who have all confided with courage and sincerity.
The goal? Equip future caregivers and raise awareness among others about the impact that this work can have on career, life as a couple and social life. We can already expect several moving interviews on a subject that affects many Quebec households. This will be not to be missed!
Recently, let's remember that the popular host launched her company of gourmet products, pastries directly inspired by her origins. It’s to be discovered (and tasted!) here.
The documentary When the Roles Reverse will be available on Tou.tv Extra on February 19, 2025.
