C’is quite a paradox. La Maison Gainsbourg is such a success that no tickets are available until March 2025, at least. But the walls of 5 bis, rue de Verneuil, in Paris, are shaking with a legal and financial battle that has been going on for several months between Charlotte Gainsbourg, the daughter of the singer and composer, and Dominique Dutreix, her partner in this vast business. A case which experienced yet another twist on Thursday December 19.
In a ruling by the Paris Court of Appeal, Dominique Dutreix was, after a first conviction in March 2024, once again convicted, on appeal, for debts accumulated with suppliers by the joint company he manages with Charlotte Gainsbourg . Opened to the public in September 2023, Maison Gainsbourg was placed in receivership in September 2024, after having ceased payments a month earlier.
