The host and his columnists Eugénie Bastié, Georges Fenech and Joseph Macé-Scaron found themselves plunged into darkness, as you can see in the video below.
“We’re going to do radio”
To divert attention, Pascal Praud then began to hum “Christmas, Merry Christmas,” the beginning of the song Good kisses from Fort-de-France from La Compagnie Creole, which ironically contains the lyrics… “tonight we turn off the TV”.
“We are, as you have understood, plunged in darkness”then explained the presenter to viewers. “But look, it’s not a big deal. If you are in front of your post, don’t change anything”he added, while behind him, the wall of TV screens survived this power cut.
Despite this incident, the broadcast of the television program was not interrupted and Pascal Praud reassured his audience: “ultimately, we can’t be seen, but we can be heard. We’re going to do radio”. Especially since the show is also broadcast live on Europe 1.
This break was ultimately short-lived. The host barely had time to worry about the possibility of broadcasting the subjects when the lights on the set came back on each in turn.
