More than 30 years later the death of Serge Gainsbourghis last companion decided to confide. Indeed, on November 7, Bambou released his autobiography entitled Step by step in the night (Ed. XO). In this work, the 65-year-old woman talks about her childhood, her meeting with the singer, but also the birth of their son Lucien Gainsbourg. The one who was only five years old when his father died was then raised by his motherwith whom he shares a close relationship. “I educated Lulu as Serge would have wanted with values, the conservatory, the piano…” she confided in an interview with Figaro.
Marc Lavoine helped Lulu Gainsbourg change her name
In the fall of 2007, Lulu was accepted into Berklee College of Music. He then wanted to become a professional musician, composer and arranger. When registering, the young boy decided to send his file in the name of Lulu Gainsbourg. “He didn’t like his official name, Lucien Ginzburg” said Bambou. The one who calls herself “mules” by his son then helped his son to change last name. She was also able to count on the support of a famous singer. “Marc Lavoine knew Dominique de Villepin. Lulu was able to change her name on the family record book urgently” she explained. A nice gesture which allowed him to officially become Lucien Gainsbourg.
