“I’m nice, but not stupid”: Michel Drucker is sour with this “guy he can’t joke”

In a podcast in 5 parts, which will be released on December 16, 2024 on Europe 1, Michel Drucker looks back on his 60-year career. And the host in the image of an ideal son-in-law rarely breaks with his tradition.

In fact, he confided on the air: “I am kind and caring because it is my nature, but I’m not stupid”. And added: “When I want to be aggressive, ironic, I screw up. It’s not my nature. But I know how to get angry when necessary.”

Michel Drucker talks about the guests he doesn’t like

Moreover, he who received many people, in his broadcasts “Champs Élysées”, “Star 90”, “Studio Gabriel”, et “Can’t wait for Sunday”has a little theory about people in the profession. Invited to “to say bad things about someone”he blurted out: “There are three categories of people in this profession”. And to quote: “There are people who have talent and who are not very friendly on a human level. There are people who don’t think they’re Aragon, nor Ferré, nor Ferrat, nor Brel. That’s the bulk of the troop who are nice who don’t bring it back, I like them a lot. They are popular people in the good sense of the word.

Finally, more acidic, Michel Drucker admits: “There are those who have no talent and whom I would not like to know, because humanly, they are despicable. We don’t even talk about those. And then there is a very closed club , people who are really talented and who are really very good on a human level. we count them on the fingers of both hands”.

How does he know so much about his guests. Well, Michel Ducker admits it, at home, “the walls have ears”. So sometimes, he listens, and discovers beautiful ones, from his teams, makeup artists, hairdressers and technicians. He also complains: “When we come to do my shows, the least we can do is say good things about it when we leave the studio.”

Why does he keep a reserve?

He who refuses to throw around names recognizes that his job is “cruel“, but he must do “son job”. And to ensure: You can’t like everyone in this job. There are some that I like less, there are some that I like a lot, but anyway, I don’t want that to show on the air.”

And for good reason, well aware of the springs of the entertainment industry, Michel Drucker takes his responsibilities. He explains thus: “they work, they have actors with them, they create jobs, there are technicians, they are not alone on stage”.

And to conclude: “I’m not going to censor a guy because I can’t blame him when he has talent and he needs to put on a show or a play.”
