Guest in We're doing TV again by Éric Dussart on RTL, Jean Pierre Foucault spoke of his somewhat strange meeting with Sophie Marceau on the set of his old show Sacred Evening. “She came to tell me she wouldn't come” laughs the host of the Miss France 2025 election. He explains: “In Le Parisien Matin we explained that Sophie Marceau was going to come to Sacrée Soirée, she was one of our guests for the film called Chouans! by Philippe de Broca. And she calls and she says: 'But I never gave my consent!' so, we call the most famous press officer in Paris, she says: 'yes but no, but there is a problem…', I answer: 'we did all the promotion on her presence etc. it's not possible' so she said 'since that's how I'm going to go and say why I'm not coming' and so she came, she said why she wasn't coming and she left. It's unique though.”. “So in the end she still came!” laughs Éric Dussart, “She still came…” laughs (a little yellow) Jean-Pierre Foucault.
In his podcast Foucault & Co, Jean Pierre Foucault also spoke about this unique anecdote of its kind. Coming back to the actress’ “no” coming, he explains: “I tried to contact Sophie Marceau to tell her that it wasn't normal that she wasn't coming and finally she tells us, 'I'm coming' like what's the point of yelling (…) and so the show begins, she arrives, she sits next to me and there she says to me, 'I'm going to explain to you why I'm not coming to Sacrée Soiree', 'But you're here!' I say, she continues: 'if I'm going to explain to you why I'm not coming this evening so I wasn't warned, me this me that, that's why I had the right to say that I wasn't coming to Sacrée Soiree, this is what I wanted to say to you thank you very much dear Jean Pierre goodbye' and so she left it's the only time in my career, my old and long career as a radio and television host, that an artist came to tell me that he wouldn't come like that“. A show that Jean Pierre Foucault will remember all his life.
