The jury for the National Assembly-LCP Political Photography Prize crowned photographer Cyril Bitton, for his image of Jordan Bardella, taken on the evening of the second round of the legislative elections, July 7, 2024.

The second edition of the National Assembly-LCP Political Photography Prize was won on December 10, by photographer Cyril Bitton, for his image of Jordan Bardella, photographed on the evening of the second round of the early legislative elections, on December 7 July 2024.

“Despite good results in the first round, it was a cold shower when the results of the second round were announced for the National Rally (RN). The RN only obtained 143 seats, far from the 289 needed to obtain an absolute majority at the Bourbon Palace. RN activists and executives quickly left the party headquarters. Jordan Bardella arrives around midnight. The photo was taken from the street: the lights go out and the party president goes out alone,” Cyril Bitton said in the caption of his photo.

The President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, accompanied by the President and CEO of LCP-National Assembly, Emmanuel Kessler, presented the 2024 Political Photography Prize of the National Assembly-LCP, as well as the sum of 2,000 euros to the lucky winner, during a ceremony at the Hôtel de Lassay.

The complete winners were announced by the jury, chaired by the President of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet and composed of eight deputies and eight personalities from the world of photography and the media, including the photographer Bettina Rheims, vice-president of ‘honor.

The photograph of the winner as well as those of the seven other finalists in the competition are exhibited to the public in the Salle des Pas-Perdus of the National Assembly during the month of December.

The objective of this photo competition is to reward an exceptional image which relates to political news and its protagonists, and for this edition, the shooting had to have been taken between the month of October 2023 and that of September 2024.
