The 27-year-old YouTuber continued to fight against various personalities, ranging from retired boxers to former basketball players. Although many of his fights were sanctioned and considered professional, they were often categorized as “influencer boxing.”
More recently, Jake Paul took on Mike Tysonwho retired from professional boxing in 2005. The YouTuber promoted this fight heavily, but it turned into a fiasco after Iron Mike showed signs of third round fatigue. Paul won the match by unanimous decisionbut the event attracted strong criticism.
Following the negative feedback he received after his fight against Tyson, he decided to take a step back from influencer boxing and of concentrate only on the professional boxing. The decision was announced on social media by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).
