Jean-Pierre Foucault’s tribute to Jean-Pierre Descombes: “After his passing nothing could happen to us”

He was among the first to react following the announcement of the death of Jean-Pierre Descombes on Sunday at the age of 76. And for good reason, he knew him well. Jean-Pierre Foucault spoke on X (formerly Twitter). “Jean-Pierre Descombes is gone… So many memories in common, The 8 p.m. Games, immensely popular host… Then ‘room attendant’ at Sacred Evening. After his passage, nothing could happen to us. He had prepared everything conscientiously.”

And he adds, as a conclusion, with a nod to one of the unmissable events of 8 p.m. games : “Neither yes nor no in paradise!”.

The two animators actually worked together on The 8 p.m. Games before Jean-Pierre Descombes later became the iconic voiceover of Sacred Eveningas it was that of the Right pricealso on TF1.

It was on television that Jean-Pierre Descombes revealed that he had Parkinson’s disease. It was in 2021 on the Non Stop People channel, on Evelyne Thomas’ show. “I have been hiding this illness for 10 years. I’ve been playing a Majax for 10 years, trying not to show it. I had very difficult times where I would sneak pills, where I would try to cool down without anyone seeing me. But unfortunately, this Parkinson is strong. No matter how hard I fight against him, sometimes he wins.”, he had confided.
