For more than ten years, he had suffered from Parkinson’s disease. Originally from Romans-sur-Isère, he had realized his dream of becoming a television presenter in the 1970s.
After leaving the famous general knowledge game, where he asked questions to celebrities and anonymous candidates in duplex from a provincial town, with the complicity of the famous Master Capello (real name, Jacques Capelovici), Jean- Pierre Descombes had provided the voice-over for other television games such as “Le Juste Prix” and “Une famille en or” on TF1.
In the 2000s, Jean-Pierre Descombes moved into hosting trade shows, galas and other events, such as the tour of former French variety stars, “Âge tender et tête de bois”. In 2018, he joined Cyril Hanouna and the “Touche pas à mon poste” gang on C8 for a time, and participated in the show “La Grosse Rigolade”.
