She succeeds the Nicaraguan Sheynnis Palacios. Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, was elected Miss Universe 2024 this Saturday, November 16 in Mexico City (Mexico) during the 73rd edition of the competition, among 127 competitors. Miss Nigeria and Miss Mexico were respectively crowned first and second runners-up in the competition.

Even if she does not reach the first step of the podium, the Frenchwoman Indira Ampiot achieves a great performance by entering the top 30. The former Miss Guadeloupe 2022 and Miss 2023 thus equals a result that France has not achieved since. 2021 with Clémence Botino.

The candidates for the crown had been in the Mexican capital for more than two weeks to participate in this election.

Before tonight's ceremony, these 127 beauty queens had completed a series of tests throughout the week, between a parade in national costume and interviews with the jury. Indira Ampiot notably dazzled the competition with her costume paying homage to the symbols of France, flag and cockade in the lead.

Among the new features for 2024, Miss Universe announced the end of the age limit for participants. While previously they had to be a maximum of 28 years old, candidates for the title of Miss Universe could now present themselves regardless of their year of birth, as long as they were of age.
