We came close to disaster! Brilliance and grace were there during the preliminaries of Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico. Indira Ampiot, Miss France 2023 and originally from Guadeloupe, caused a sensation in a sparkling outfit inspired by the French flag.
However, a small mishap almost turned the event upside down: the young woman almost fell in the middle of the parade, a scene which caused shivers in the audience. The scene was filmed and shared on social networks (video below).
Miss Universe 2024: Indira Ampiot on the verge of disaster
Ce November 14thduring the preliminary evening, Indira Ampiot walked the stage in a magnificent tricolor outfit, designed by the Guadeloupean brand Manzel. The creation, made up of feathers and sequins, proudly represented the colors of France: blue, white and red. “We wanted to highlight strong symbols for the nation, such as the tricolor flag and the cockade, with an additional touch: the beret and a nod to the French rooster,” explains the brand in a presentation video.
However, the elegant outfit almost played a bad trick on him. One of Indira's heels got caught in the long train of her dress, causing her to become unbalanced. For a few seconds, the anguish was palpable, but the Miss quickly regained her balance, to the warm applause of the audience. (Video below)

Indira Ampiot: “I knew it was going to happen”
If the incident could have destabilized anyone, Indira Ampiot knew how to keep a smile and a sense of humor. On her Instagram account, she reacted very lightly: “It’s true that there was this little problem with my national costume, but I always got tripped up in it, so I knew it was going to happen . But hey, it doesn't matter, at least I laughed, I really had fun tonight.”
