For almost forty years he has been languishing behind bars in Lannemezan prison, in the Hautes-Pyrénées. In 1987, pro-Palestinian activist Georges Ibrahim Abdallah was sentenced to life in prison by the Special Assize Court. He was found guilty of complicity in the assassination of two diplomats. A decision whose charges he constantly contested. “ I am a fighter, not a criminal”, he always defended.
During his 37 years in prison, the former teacher requested his release eleven times. Everything comes in time to those who wait. In this case, the eleventh request was the correct one. Friday, November 15, the sentence enforcement court ordered the release of the man of Lebanese origin, who has been free for 25 years.

At 73 years old, Georges Ibrahim Abdallah will be able to hug his family members again in complete freedom. Among these members is a very well-known writer: Chloe Delaume.
Better known to the general public since winning the Medici Prize for her book Poor foolin 2020, the one born Nathalie Dalain has been writing for more than twenty years. In some of her self-fictions, she evoked her tragic story. When she was a little girl, her father killed her mother in front of her, before committing suicide.
Like her uncle, Chloé Delaume has a taste for commitment. In addition to being a recognized writer, Chloé Delaume is also an editor, performer, director of short films, musician and singer. The lyrics of his songs demonstrate an assumed misandry. The one who joined the Nupes parliament in 2022 also shared her life for some time with Daniel Schneidermann, from whom she has since separated. Together they wrote a book called Where the blood calls uspublished in 2013.
