Fans will long remember the popular tribute that was paid to Johnny Hallyday. On December 5, 2017, the Taulier took his last breath at the age of 74 after a fierce battle with lung cancer. On the day of his funeral, the funeral procession traveled along the Avenue des Champs-Elysées in front of a crowd of onlookers before a religious ceremony in the Church of La Madeleine in Paris.
Led by Laeticia Hallyday and her daughters, Jade and Joy, but also by David Hallyday and Laura Smet, many guests paid a final tribute to the former youth idol. That day, Claude Lelouch was in the audience, camera in hand.

It was really a film that I wanted to make.”he confided to Mouloud Achour.
And to continue: “There are people who keep a diary, I keep my cell phone”added the filmmaker before revealing that he had carefully kept the sequences as a family heirloom: “All my life I have filmed images that have never been released to the public. I have a personal film library that will be only for my children and my grandchildren.”

I miss his phone calls a lot“he confided. “He was an incredible man, I grew up with him since I did his first scopitones and I am delighted that we are finishing this show with him, thank you very much”concluded the director ofA man and a woman who has just celebrated his 87th birthday.
