In his shows, Jordan de Luxe likes to discuss financial topics such as salary, retirement and inheritance with his guests. Monday July 29, 2024, while he received Pierre Dhostel, son of Pierre Bellemare in The swimming pool of Jordan de Luxe, on C8, the journalist could not help asking him
how much he had touched when his famous father died. As a reminder, Pierre Bellemare was the star of The Invisible Camera, Téléshopping, Coucou c'est nous and Les investiges impossibles.
If the host has won a lot of money throughout his career, his son assured that he had “a very small legacy”. “A million euros to share between several people. And with my sister, we had a small percentage”he said before letting go: “Don't count on inheritance, ever“. In complete transparency, Pierre Dhostel added: “I am a millionaire in assets. I have a house, so that’s it, so it’s increasing in value”.
Pierre Dhostel: “He spent practically everything”
On November 2, 2023, on the set of the show Chez Jordan, on C8, it was after revealing that he had 5,000 euros in retirement that Pierre Dhostel confided: “Dad made a lot of moneybut he always spent everything. He spent almost everything, no it's true, he spent a lot of money. His boats that I was telling you about cost a lot of money throughout his life. And then when he retired to Périgord, he lived for another 18 years in Périgord and there he started to do construction everywhere. So”.
Cash, he had specified: “You know Périgord, in terms of capital gains… It’s pretty, it’s a very beautiful region, I love it, but that’s not where you make money doing real estate!”before adding: “We got a little bit of money, but quite reasonable, and not what people could imagine”.
Pierre Dhostel: “I have no copyright”
To conclude,
the animator had indicated: “My father's copyright is for my mother-in-lawso I don't have any copyright, I don't have anything, if it's very good, listen, she's the one who benefits from it, so much the better. These are not copyrights like for singers, or it can sometimes be exceptional”.
During this broadcast, it was while evoking the disappearance of Pierre Bellemare that Pierre Dhostel remembered:
“It was very hard for him because he had a stroke and he was all alone in Paris. He continued to have his office in Paris for a long, long time and he lived in a hotel during that time. In his bathroom, he had a stroke and his head hit the sink. He was unconscious on the ground, with a huge wound to his head (…) And then he had small strokes where he suddenly lost consciousness. And he had slight memory loss. But it happened very quickly… In eight months…”.
