Only a few days left before the Miss Universe election! It is in fact this Sunday, November 17, 2024 that the ceremony will be broadcast live on the Première channel. For this new edition, it is the beautiful Indira Ampiot, Miss 2023, who will represent France. Just before leaving for Mexico where the competition is being held, the 20-year-old spoke about her state of mind and her determination.

Indira Ampiot proud to represent France at Miss Universe

In the columns of Gala magazine, Indira Ampiot looks back on her participation which should have taken place last year. “I was supposed to take part last year. However, as Diane Leyre had not been able to do so and I wanted to finish my year as Miss France quietly, I gave her my place. I knew that after her, it would be my turn when my participation materialized in July, I was really delighted. explains the beauty queen.

And to add: “I really want to highlight my commitment against cancer. During my year as Miss, I was able to get closer to many associations and hospitals that fight against the disease. In addition to that, I obviously want to promote our country”.

Intense preparation

Indira Ampiot then confides in his preparation for the competition. “Every week, I had six hours of catwalk classes. I did a lot of photo shoots and filming. I had to prepare two videos. One to summarize my reigning year and a second to highlight the cause that I want to highlight. I also had makeup lessons, hairdressing and a lot of preparation in terms of outfits. For the twenty days of preparation before the competition, I had to organize around fifty looks. I'm going to leave with at least four suitcases, I'm going to be very loaded (she laughs). There is also psychological preparation. I'm going to be facing a committee that I don't know and competing with 130 candidates.“.

We ask the young woman if she fears possible rivalries with the other candidates, when we know that some do not hesitate to make low blows. And Indira Ampiot responds: “Always! It's often said that candidates cut up dresses or hide heels. I think I'm going to put two padlocks on my suitcases (laughs). I know there are always some rivalries. For some Misses, it's the adventure of their lives. They absolutely want to win this election. Afterwards, that's also my goal to go all the way and win the crown.

Unfailing support

Fortunately, Miss France 2023 will be supported by her loved ones and her presumed darling. “I think my parents and my brother will try to come from Guadeloupe. I also maybe have friends who will be there to support me. In any case, if they can't come, I know they will be with me in spirit.

She also explains having received valuable advice from former Misses. “Whether it was Clémence Botino, Amandine Petit or Flora Coquerel, they told me to always have a smile. It’s not too difficult for me, I smile all the time for nothing (laughs). They also told me advised me to be a bit like “the first student in the class”. Regarding the evening of the prime, they told me that I had to make the most of it and I should not worry about other people's views. live fully in the present moment”.
