However, during her visit to Jordan de Luxe this Friday, November 8, 2024, singer Sloane let out a slight rant. She indicated in the show At Jordan's that she would have appreciated finding another artist on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower.
“I would still have proposed Mireille Mathieu, who is our French singer”she regretted to our colleague. The latter, surprised by this answer, then asked him: “You didn't understand why she wasn't there.”
“Yes, I didn’t understand that she wasn’t there”then confirms Sloane before explaining: “Because Mireille Mathieu, for me, is the French singer who should have been there for the French Olympic Games.” And when Jordan de Luxe asks her if she would have put Mireille Mathieu in Céline Dion's place, the 67-year-old artist doesn't speak bluntly: “Yes, I say it openly”.

However, the singer of the title Need nothing, want youqualifies his remarks. “I love Céline because for me, she is one of the greatest singers in the world. And I love her deeply and she fights a lot against her illness”she assures before confiding: “But, sincerely, Mireille Mathieu should have had her place at some point and we should bring her in very well. But Mireille Mathieu should have been there. Honestly, Mireille Mathieu represents France. She could have sung the Marseillaise”.
What about Aya Nakamura? On this point, Sloane seems satisfied. “It’s for young people. Yes, it’s for young people. Mireille Mathieu, it’s for old people and Aya, it’s for young people”explains the 67-year-old singer to justify the much-maligned presence of Aya Nakamura at the opening ceremony.
