After training in the fine arts of Nantes, the visual artist very early turned to creation in volumeintended for live entertainment and the performing arts. She notably made puppets for a Nantes festival in 1999 and worked on the decoration of the “les Virevoltés” festival in Vire in 2003.

Wishing to distance herself from the artistic world for a while, Virgine Morel, also very sensitive to the natural and plant world, turned to botany in 2005. “ I let myself be guided by my desires “, she declares. She thus followed PPAM training (Aromatic and medicinal plant) with a specialty in wild edible plants. In his plastic production, this link with the world of plants has remained particularly significant.
“After this training, I had the project of the carlotte (Traveling plant bar) where I offered wild plants for tasting in the form of drinks and soups. This project lasted 10 years, La Carlotte moved within a 100 km radius around Sourdeval, from 2010 to 2020,” explains the artist.
An intimate link with the plant and animal world
