Carole Rousseau was the guest of “Enfants de la télé” on Sunday November 3, 2024 on 2. The former host of TF1 and C8 was questioned about her withdrawal from the air in recent years. She said that the image no longer interests her much.

“Physically, it became difficult at the end of the air”

Laurence Boccolini asked her if she was not ready to return to television. “The host has taken a step back… The producer continues to work”replied Carole Rousseau. The presenter of “Children of ” to bounce back: “But what if we asked you to remake ‘The Great Contest’?” the show that she hosted for more than 15 years on TF1, her guest was hesitant. “I don't know… Physically, it became difficult at the end of the air. That is to say, take the fifteen tons…”she declared while pointing to the light spots installed on the sets. “When we free ourselves from that, I find that there is something quite magical about it. So I take advantage of that freedom!”she added.

The former presenter of “Plein les yeux” and “C’est qu’est l’amour?” on the front page is lucid about the state of the market. “Tomorrow, a great show, why not… But since there isn't one, I have no illusions and here it is…”she explained. “I never asked anyone for anything.”she assured. Carole Rousseau indicated that she had today moved on to something else. “I make, I produce and I give meaning to my daily life. I work with people who help others. I also do a lot of institutional work, so I'm having a blast. I've been living in for two years, so I I left and it’s cool!”she concluded.

From flagship presenter from TF1 to C8

In the 1990s and 2000s, Carole Rousseau was one of the flagship presenters of TF1. The public was able to successively find her in the presentation of programs such as “Plein les yeux” – in co-hosting with Jacques Legros -, “C'est que l'amour?”, “Appels d'urgence” and “Le great competition. In 2018, she ended her collaboration with La Une to join C8, a channel where she was at the helm of the magazine “Enquête sous haute tension” until 2021. Since the end of this, she has rarefied her presence on the air.
