P. Diddy “disgusted” and “sorry”, the rapper reacts after the publication of a video of violence against his ex-partner

American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs apologized on May 19, 2024 for his “inexcusable” and “disgusting” behavior after CNN broadcast a video showing an outburst of violence on his part against his former partner, R&B singer Cassie, in 2016 in a Los Angeles hotel.

“My behavior in this video is inexcusable”, said the global star and New York hip-hop billionaire in a video posted on his Instagram account. He adds that he is “disgusted” by what we see on the screen and explains that he has since sought treatment, particularly for his addictions. “I am really sorry”he adds.

The 54-year-old rapper and producer, who also goes by the name “Puff Daddy” and P. Diddy”, has been caught since 2023 by several accusations of rape, sexual exploitation and physical and psychological violence.

Among them is a civil complaint filed in New York in November by Cassie who accused her ex-partner of rape in 2018 and of “violent” and “deviant” behavior for a decade, such as forced sexual relations with male prostitutes. The matter was ultimately settled “amicably” according to a confidential agreement.

The legal action by the singer, real name Casandra Ventura, referred to a particularly violent physical attack, which was demonstrated in video surveillance images dated March 5, 2016 and revealed and authenticated by CNN on Friday.

“Hypocritical” excuses

We see the rapper, simply wearing a towel around his waist, catching up with Cassie in a hotel corridor, grabbing her brutally and throwing her violently to the ground, before kicking her several times. LThe rapper had vigorously denied all facts since the November civil complaint and has not been criminally charged.

These excuses “sound hollow”, said one of Cassie’s lawyers, Meredith Firetog, after the release of the rapper’s video. “The fact that he only finally apologized after his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his hypocritical words,” Meredith Firetog said. , according to celebrity website TMZ.

In March, the highly publicized entry of police officers into his vast luxury properties in Miami and Los Angelessuggested that an investigation targeting him was underway.
