While the 63-year-old actor is in the middle of a promotion period for his next film, Kill ‘em All 2which is due out on November 18, he recently learned some very sad news. As revealed Publicon October 11, the Belgian director lost his mother. According to our colleagues, Éliana Van Varenbergh died at the age of 89 in the retirement home where she lived. “The establishment for people in which she resided for several years is located in Knokke-le-Zoute, a coastal town in Belgium. The actor was at her mother’s side during her last moments”revealed the media. This news is all the more difficult for Jean-Claude Van Damme to take as he had a close relationship with his mother.
In the media as well as on social networks, the actor had indeed spoken on several occasions of the love he had for the woman who gave him life. Fortunately, the one nicknamed JCVD can count on the unconditional support of his fans to overcome this ordeal. Under an old Instagram publication, dating from November 2022 and in which the actor had revealed a photo with his mother, many Internet users expressed their condolences. “My condolences JCVD, your mom so deserves her place in heaven”wrote one follower, while another said: “Hi Jean-Claude. I love you very much and I’m really sorry for your mom, may she rest in peace.”
