Alast March, Laura-Marie Marque-Brugerolle pushed open the doors of the Biganos Cultural Space to participate in the local Miss Biganos-Porte du Bassin competition, which leads to that of Miss Aquitaine. “It was unanimous, there was no hesitation,” confides a member of the jury. The 25-year-old young woman appeared for the very first time in a Miss pageant. “It wasn’t a little girl’s dream for me. I had been contacted by several committees to introduce myself. I thought about it and finally said to myself that I will do it. But I wanted to finish my studies first. It was the right time for me this year. »
The rest, we now know. Laura-Marie Marque-Brugerolle became Miss Aquitaine last Sunday October 6 at Futuroscope in Poitiers, against 15 other contenders for the title. A victory which opens the doors to the national Miss France competition which will take place on December 14 at the same Futuroscope. She will represent the region in front of around 8 million viewers. “To be honest, I don’t really realize it. I’m realizing it little by little. I have received a lot of support, congratulations, messages from people who see me going further in this adventure,” she confides to “Sud Ouest”.
Arcachon, his “home”
The young woman also says, “believe in it”, in any case “do everything to achieve it”. “I’m going to prepare with the Committee over the next few days, then there will be the traditional two-week trip with all the misses [pour une destination à ce jour inconnue, NDLR]and finally the rehearsals in Poitiers”… just before the big day. This preparation for the trip is firstly mental, but also in speaking with which she feels “comfortable” for the moment. “That’s what stressed me the least, but on prime day it’s not the same. »

Laura-Marie Marque-Brugerolle was born in Talence and grew up in the Bassin, exactly in Arcachon, where she still has her family. She studied there in Saint-Elme and has always been very sporty: gymnastics, GRS, basketball, swimming and synchronized swimming. “I have traveled a lot, and I always tell my friends that the Arcachon basin is an extraordinary place to live. I have been back since June and I feel at home. » At the age of 15, she left to live abroad, her father having to go to Senegal then to Morocco for professional reasons.
Then, she embarked on dental studies in Porto, Portugal. “The first year, I didn’t speak a word of Portuguese, but the teachers were understanding. And I learned. » Now bilingual French-Portuguese, she has just completed a five-year study to be a dental surgeon. She is submitting her thesis in the coming days and will defend it later. “I want to specialize in implantology,” she explains. If she does not obtain the title of Miss France on December 14, a medical career awaits her. If she succeeds Ève Gilles, she will put “her profession as a dentist on pause for a year”. This is all the harm that many wish him.
