Angel Reese had a message for her critics after the MET Gala

On April 15, when everyone’s eyes were on Caytlin Clark, it was the most followed WNBA draft in history.

In addition to Clark, players like Cameron Brink and Kamilla Cardoso would join the league and change the face of their teams.

Another very popular WNBA player, Angel Reese, fell all the way to No. 7 as the Chicago Sky made her their second pick in the first round (after Cardoso at No. 3).

The former LSU star, last year’s national champion, made the rounds on social media after the triumph because of his attitude on the field. With her unshakeable confidence, she found herself in the crosshairs of bad tongues more often than not.

Leaving the NCAA for the WNBA wasn’t going to change that overnight.

From the MET Gala to the field

Monday evening, the prestigious MET Gala turned all heads as the crème de la crème of Hollywood’s elite strutted in haute couture clothes in front of the curious gazes of hundreds of photographers on site.

Reese, in a stunning dress, was on hand like other athletes.

Internet users noticed everything and jumped on their keyboards to criticize the young player who had to prepare for a Sky preparatory match the next day.

However, the player had a plan and she let the critics shout. Especially since May 6, during the gala, was also his birthday. She celebrated her 22nd birthday in style.

The day after the gala, she joined her team for the warm-up and the match.

Better yet, she finished the game with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.

So, it’s not hard to see that the gala wasn’t a distraction for her at all. If anything, she showed she can maximize her time in addition to turning heads on red carpets and courts.

The makings of a very big star, without a shadow of a doubt.

This WNBA season will be very interesting.
