Viewers will be able to discover this new detective series on Monday May 6, 2024 on TF1 and TF1+. On the occasion of the promotion of the series, Thierry Neuvic spoke to TF1 in the company of Ethann Isidore, the interpreter of Kevin Lorin, the famous “recruit” of Vincent Béraud.
Thierry Neuvic, a “cop” who recruits a thug in spite of himself
Jospeh’s dad, the fruit of his love with Jenifer, indicates that The recruit is a detective series that rides on the tone of comedy with substantive subjects. “I find that there is a real honesty between all these characters. This family trying to put itself back together in this ambient mess. There is a real smile, there is real love in it I think. With police investigations. We’re in a thriller comedy”he explains.
It is following a “first intervention” where the character of Thierry Neuvic follows “a kind of gang of thugs of which Kevin is a part” that the latter decides to surrender to finally help the police in their investigation. But understanding between the two characters will be difficult.
“Vincent’s character has a problem, which is that he has a son who has disappeared and so he sees another guy his son’s age who comes back into his life, so there is a kind of rejection“ justifies Thierry Neuvic before specifying: “ he represents everything I don’t like. That is to say, disorder. So I have a communication problem with this young man. I have a total rejection but over time we will get to know each other”.
