Kim Kardashian visits prison. According to the American media Variety, the star went to the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Center near San Diego on Saturday, September 21, to talk with a group of inmates about prison reform.

Accompanied by her sister Khloe Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian spoke with brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez, accused of killing their parents and whose story is depicted in the new season of the Netflix series. Monstersreleased on September 19.

Also present at the meeting were film producer Scott Budnick and actor Cooper Koch, who plays Erik in the series.

An “inaccurate” and “imprecise” story

Launched in September 2022 with a first season dedicated to the story of Jeffrey Dahmer, the series Monsters looks back at various events that occurred in the United States. For its second season, the program focuses this time on the lives of Lyle and Erik Menendez.

The two brothers, played on screen by Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez, were convicted in 1996 for the murder of their parents. They confessed to the facts and justified their actions by claiming to have been victims of sexual and physical abuse by their father.

But since the airing of season 2 of Monsters on Netflix, Erik Menendez has come out of his silence to criticize the veracity of the series. In a statement posted on the account Facebook of his brother, the latter attacks Ryan Murphy’s program and denounces an “inaccurate” and “imprecise” account of the story of his brother Lyle and his family.

“I thought we moved past the lies and ruinous portrayals, creating a caricature of Lyle rooted in horrible and blatant lies spread throughout the show,” Erik said on Facebook.

Huge success on Netflix, Monsters had also been criticized during its first season by relatives of Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims, who denounced the platform’s complacency with the subject. Despite everything, a third season of the series is already in preparation.
