She’s starring in the movie Seed to discover on Prime Video on May 3. Marie Papillon plays Lucie, a young woman in a relationship with Inès who decide to have a child together. A feature film in which the actress has “learned a lot about the difficulties of the process while preparing the film”, she confides in Paris Match. And for good reason, the viewer will be able to discover all the steps necessary for a homoparental couple who wishes to have a child. Now 32 years old, the ex-girlfriend of the singer Angèle confides to our colleagues that she, younger, hid her homosexuality. “I felt alone, there was no gay bar, no association“, reveals the one who grew up in Le Havre.
They called me ‘the lesbian’
Once in Paris, she discovers that she has the possibility of “Walking in the Marais and going to Gay Pride”. Enrolled in an English faculty, Marie Papillon qualifies “rebellious. They called me ‘the lesbian’, it wasn’t mean but there is a real curiosity about it. Like what, things have changed a lot since then”, she enthuses. Thus, several months after her arrival in the capital, she will make the decision to come out: “I told myself that I was going to find myself on the street. So I took a job as a saleswoman and I settled in an apartment for which I paid the rent. My parents did not understand. And then I I told them and they said, ‘no problem’. I had done all that for nothing”she recalls.
If she is separated from singer Angèle, Marie Papillon remembered in the magazine Stubborn in 2021, how violent was the announcement in the press of his relationship with the young Belgian. “I am discreet about our story because it is something that belongs to us. We highlight what we want to show, nothing more”. After a few months of relationship, the two women separate. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t in touch. From now on, each one makes his career on his side.
