A film with Julie Gayet and François Hollande?
The star couple, but discreet, seem to find themselves for a few moments in the same professional field. In the film Silex
and the city
which will be released in theaters on September 11, there will be Julie Gayet, but also the former President of the Republic…

With Stéphane Bern, Léa Drucker and Amélie Nothomb, the two lovebirds have also lent their voices to the feature film. “With humor, we can go to the cinema as a family to talk about politics, rather than arguing at home” explains Julie Gayet in the show Bonjour
!
on TF1.

How did Julie Gayet convince François Hollande?

It was not easy to convince him, but Julie Gayet did her best to get François Hollande to lend his voice to this animated film produced by the cartoonist Jul. “He hesitated a little, I pushed him” she explains, when asked about the subject. “At the same time, when you see him with Jul, it’s intense, and also about politics.”

Rather discreet about their private life, the couple will be reunited in
the world of the actress from mid-September. In Silex and the cityit follows a father and his daughter who disrupt the endless routine of prehistory by traveling into the future. The feature film is inspired by the universe of the series broadcast on Arte.

What role will François Hollande play in the film?

In an interview with Free CharenteFrançois Hollande confided that the cartoonist Jul had asked him several times to dub characters: “He had already asked me for several years. I had declined because it was not the right time. Then, he asked me to do a voice for a few minutes.”

For the moment, the director does not want to reveal what role François Hollande will play. “There are people who are more or less gifted. He’s an amazing actor. He was crazy, super funny. (…) He opens the film, and we find him throughout,” he says. The two men crossed paths at many events, without ever working together. The director therefore sees a former President of the Republic dubbing one of the characters in his film. Thank you Julie Gayet for this moment!
