A new group, “Labour Friends of Morocco” (LFM), has been created in London to promote relations between Morocco and the British Labor Party. Under the presidency of MP Joe Powell, the LFM is committed to establishing lasting partnerships by fostering diplomatic, economic, cultural and educational ties.
With an expected trade volume of £3.8 billion in 2024, the group aims to increase trade, particularly in the renewable energy, technology and tourism sectors. During its launch, members signed a commitment to align the interests of the two countries, recognizing Morocco as a strategic ally.
“The Moroccan community in the UK serves as a vital bridge between our two nations, working to strengthen our ties and promote deeper mutual understanding“, declared the Moroccan ambassador to Great Britain, Hakim Hajoui.
