Tuesday, around 7:30 a.m., a postal bus from line 360 found itself in trouble, in the middle of the Mollie-Margot road. “I think it was trying to turn a small corner that he got stuck. He blocked everyone, including two other post buses,” recounts a local resident, who had just boarded one of them in Mollie-Margot (VD) to go to her work in Lausanne.
“We had to get off and go to Savigny to take another bus. Motorists who were turning back offered to take us there. I agreed, but ten to fifteen other people continued on foot. Okay, it’s ten minutes away, but still in -5 degrees!” continues the user. Once the disembarked passengers arrived, everyone had to be brought in, including those who were already waiting at the stop. “The vehicle was filled to the brim! There must have been 200 of us! Fortunately, the driver drove slowly,” says the Vaudoise.
The latter deplores the “bad maneuvers of the postal buses in recent months” on this road which connects Savigny to Mollie-Margot. “Fortunately, no one was injured in today’s incident. But in August, a young girl was hit by a bus and, at the end of December, another almost overturned, says this regular on line 360. At the same time, we are asked to use public transport, which has a huge cost. So if now the postbuses start to malfunction, that’s not okay!”
Contacted, CarPostal explains that the vehicle got stuck in the middle of the road on Tuesday morning, trying to turn around. “The driver is new and confused the routes. It had no passengers on board. No one was injured, but several races were canceled,” explains spokesperson Katharina Merkle. The situation has since been restored. The public transport company apologizes for the disruption.
“These three accidents which occurred on the same route are very regrettable. But they had very different triggers,” says the communicator. She mentions an icy road due to the weather conditions in December. As for the accident in August, she specifies that the young girl who was injured had run across the road outside the pedestrian crossing. A passenger of the bus in question was also injured due to emergency braking.
