China-Stronger acceleration than expected in exports in December – 01/13/2025 at 04:14

Growth in Chinese exports accelerated in December at a faster pace than expected, while imports also increased, contrary to expectations, official data released on Monday showed.

According to Chinese customs, exports of the world’s second largest economy grew last month by 10.7% year-on-year, against a consensus of 7.3%, after an increase of 6.7% in November.

Imports increased by 1.0% in December, while analysts on average expected a decline of 1.5% after a drop of 3.9% the previous month.
