A Toyota subsidiary in the United States plans to donate $1 million to Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony on January 20.
“We made this decision because Toyota's activities are also present in the United States, like many other firms,” explained a public relations manager for the Japanese manufacturer.
According to American media, manufacturers Ford Motor and General Motors also plan to each offer one million dollars and provide vehicles during the event. Other major companies like Amazon.com and Meta Platforms will also make a financial donation.
Donald Trump said he would impose 25% tariffs on goods imported from Mexico and Canada until those two countries stop the flow of drugs and illegal immigration to the United States. Some fear that if these tariffs are implemented, automakers who produce vehicles in these two countries will be affected.
