Saint-Urcisse. The Munchs, one hand in the earth, the other in mechanics

Since 2010, their farm, Earl Du Plateau, has been dedicated to growing lentils, chickpeas, flax and buckwheat, while offering agricultural mechanical repair services.

Fabrice, after taking over his parents' small farm, began his career as a salaried agricultural mechanic, therefore dual active operator and employee, then following an expansion of his operation solely as a farmer.

For her part, Angélique started as a secretary in various Agen companies. Without specific training in agriculture, she decided to join her husband, bringing new life to the farm. Together, they were able to expand the farm and launch into organic production, a choice motivated by their desire to offer quality products while respecting the environment.

Today, the couple juggles between the two activities

Fabrice provides agricultural assistance up to 100 km around his garage, often traveling from his fields to his toolbox. “Often, I do my day as an agricultural mechanic, and in the evening, I go to my fields to cultivate my land,” he explains with passion. Angélique, for her part, is fully invested in the production and processing of their products. “I love my job. My goal is to continue to produce, transform and market. “So, the circle is closed,” she confides. The couple has succeeded in establishing a cooperative sales channel, with a merchant grain, and soon on the markets, in order to promote the benefits of organic farming.

Their commitment to sustainable agriculture and their desire to meet the needs of their community also push them to consider developing the sale of spare parts for agricultural equipment. “We are seeking to diversify our activities while remaining true to our values,” they add.

Angélique and Fabrice Munch embody a new generation of dynamic farmers.
