A speeding violation which costs him dearly. Loire senator Pierre-Jean Rochette was caught speeding in category 4 and received a 4-month license suspension and a very heavy fine. For his next outings, he will remember it.
Speeding with serious consequences
On a departmental road in Montbrison, in the Loire, one of the department's senators Pierre-Jean Rochette pressed the accelerator a little too hard. His offense, classified in category 4 (“exceeding more than 40 km/h and less than 50 km/h”), is punishable by a fine of up to 750 euros, a license suspension of up to three years and the withdrawal of four points.
An exemplary sanction
The Saint-Étienne police court imposed a fine of 550 euros on Pierre-Jean Rochette and suspended his driving license for four months. During the hearing, the magistrate probably reminded the elected official of the importance of respecting the rules of conduct, a duty that is all the more essential for a public representative… and manager of a transport company.
To summarize
Senator Pierre-Jean Rochette was convicted of excessive speeding. Having exceeded the authorized limit by more than 40 km/h, he narrowly escaped a permanent loss of license during his appearance before the Saint-Étienne court.
