The ink, the emblematic acronym of Kuehne + Nagel, irrevocably brings back the Hamburg roots of one of the world leaders in transport and logistics. In the midst of this German-Swiss excellence active since the end of the 19th century (the company was created in 1890), we inaugurated last Tuesday at 43 of the road Casseèvres the largest “road agency” in all of France! Think… 11,000 m2 surface area, compared to 7000 m2 previously cumulatively on the two sites of Toulouse-Fondeyre and Bruguières, now closed. With the stated objective of strengthening the group’s position as a hub major in Europe and participate in the development of the economy and employment in the South-West of France.
24 hour activity
Inauguration coupled with an open day in the presence of employees of the Toulouse site: the meeting in the middle of the giant quay allowed a clear highlighting of the activities of Kuehne + Nagel, whose agency director, Pierre Ricordeau, spoke felicity. “135 employees work on this site which operates permanently. The daily arrival is 580 tonnes of goods, for 4300 pallets loaded every day. We work with around 250 customers, mainly SMEs, but also industrialists”.
Overall, with more than 80,000 employees spread across nearly 1,300 sites in nearly 100 countries, the Kuehne + Nagel group is one of the leading providers of transport and logistics services in the world.
Alongside local director Pierre Ricordeau, Maud Lanciau and David Delpal, respectively regional sales director and regional operations director, praised all the merits of the Saint-Joryen site. They, in particular, praised all the work carried out regarding the energy transition. Thus, to reduce the carbon footprint, the Toulouse hub is equipped with a tractor and three electric carriers, which have a range of 400 km.
