a first unsuccessful negotiation this Wednesday morning

On the second day of the strike among EDF agents at the East Port, a first negotiation meeting was held this Wednesday morning with management. But the strikers’ demands remained unsatisfied and the movement continues.

This Wednesday, November 20, in the morning, the management of EDF Réunion met the striking employees, who started a movement yesterday Tuesday in order to obtain answers to their demands.

We expect EDF management to respect the Labor Code. We ask him to distribute the wealth created by employees as best as possible and to share dividends more equitably.“, recalls Yoen Giral de Boisvilliers, CGTR union representative at the EDF Port Est power plant.

The negotiation meeting which was held between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. this Wednesday morning, however, produced nothing. “We note significant progress on a single point, that of jobs“, note Yoen Giral de Boisvilliers.

But the financial demands have not received a response, he continues. “Management maintains its proposal which, from our point of view, is indecent given the profits our company makes.“Finally, regarding compliance with the Labor Code, mediation was requested from the Labor Inspectorate, informs the trade unionist.

Earlier, striking employees had threatened to block the unloading of a biomass boat at the Port. A threat which was ultimately not carried out. But “agents remain mobilized to continue actions“, affirms Yoen Giral de Boisvilliers. A toughening of the mobilization is not excluded if the management maintains its positions, he assures.
