Known and renowned for its models, Porsche has always been very involved in the world of motor racing, particularly on the circuit, but not only that since the German brand distinguished itself in the 1980s in the desert with a victory in the Paris -Dakar in 1986.
To pay homage to this glorious past, Porsche has been offering the 911 Dakar for two years now, an “all-terrain” version of the latest generation of the 911. Today, here is an even more exclusive version prepared especially for a wealthy Italian collector.
We call this a “Factory one off” meaning a unique car. Ferrari is accustomed to this, but here we are talking about Porsche, which is much rarer. Carried out by the manufacturer’s personalization department called Sonderwunsch, this preparation unsurprisingly incorporates the technical specifications of the 911 Dakar, namely a ground clearance raised by 50 mm and bodywork protections. For the engine, we still find a flat six-cylinder with 480 hp and 570 Nm.
Finally, it is on the aesthetic level that the new features focus, in particular a three-color painting done by hand. The upper part of the bodywork is therefore “Signal Yellow” and the lower part is “Gentian Blue”, the whole is separated by a specific light blue color line called Lampedusa Blue in reference to the Italian island. We find yellow and blue on the rims.
The Matrix LED headlights are individualized with a decorative ring in Lampedusa color, and the stainless steel protective elements at the front, rear and on the sills are black.
The interior highlights yellow with touches of this color at the seams and trim strips of the dashboard, the center console, the door panels, but also the lettering affixed to the seat backs.
Before being handed over to its owner, this exclusive 911 Dakar will be exhibited at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. Don’t hesitate to take a look if you are in the area.
