After its Nürburgring record, Xiaomi is not done with high-performance models. The Chinese manufacturer has just presented its new generation of advanced chassis. More efficient and completely controlled by electronics.
Chassis control has become a favorite area of Chinese manufacturers, initially totally focused on comfort. But the provision of superior performance is now seen as a way of giving itself international legitimacy by competing with European or Japanese manufacturers.
The Xiaomi SU7 has already demonstrated its capabilities in various tests and through its performance on the Nürburgring circuit, even if in the latter case it was not a production version. The young manufacturer seems determined to follow the trend and presents the next evolution of its chassis, aboard an SU7 sedan prototype.

As with its rivals designated Yangwang, Luxeed or IM, Xiaomi therefore installs here a controlled and active suspension of course, but also 4 steering wheels. Braking and steering go into by-wire mode without a mechanical link, and everything is served by 4 electric motors developing a total of 2054 hp…
An impressive cavalry, but it is not performance that is valued here, but rather different skills, not all of them very useful. Xiaomi indeed shows the car capable of jumping on the spot (?), or even capable of turning on the spot or in compass mode on a front wheel taken as a pivot point. Demonstrations for direct use that can be questioned, but it is also thanks to such systems that IM offers, for example, a parking mode without slot, the car moving perpendicular to the direction of traffic to enter the space parking.
No release date for these functions has yet been announced. But they could appear on the second Xiaomi model planned for 2025, then on an evolution of the SU7 immediately.
