What will change for Proximus, Base, and Voo customers in November

The month of November brings its share of changes for the customers of all operators. We take stock!

You can now use your own modem

It was the workhorse of the BIPT. The Belgian Institute of Postal Services and Telecommunications has made the operators bend. From now on, consumers will be able to choose the model they want instead of the basic modem provided by the operator, with substantial gains in speed, performance and connectivity. However, you will have to be handy, because the configuration is not very easy and above all, the operators will not guarantee any support with your own hardware… The change is operational from November 1st. More info here.

A new channel at Proximus

Surprise, the operator adds a new channel: Home & Garden . This is a chain dedicated to interior & exterior decoration and renovation. It is available free of charge on channel 325.

More security for your SMS

Android’s SMS application, Google Messages, is evolving. It will now more effectively detect SPAM and messages from scammers of all kinds. In case of a suspicious message, the user will receive a notification. The idea is to prevent consumers from being fooled so easily by phishing SMS messages. Google is also adding a system for blocking suspicious calls from abroad and a blurring system for suspicious photos. All this can be discovered here.

Towards the end of the VOO brand?

Bought by last June, the VOO brand could completely disappear, as Zuny did before it. Orange is in fact planning to draw a line under the VOO brand. Its stores, subscriptions and marketing would disappear. The operation should be effective by the start of the 2025 school year, i.e. within just one year. More info here.
