Renault Emblème, the beginnings of a carbon-free future

Renault Emblème represents much more than a simple concept car: it embodies the future of carbon-free mobility, according to Renault. Thanks to an intelligent combination between electric motor and battery hydrogenhydrogenthis vehicle offers an interesting choice, even to those who refuse to go electric due to too limited autonomy.

A radical decarbonization approach

The central element of Renault Emblème is its decarbonization approach, carried out methodically from design to the end of the vehicle’s life. The objective is clear: to achieve a level ofbroadcastsbroadcasts of only 5 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (CO2e) over the entire life cycle of the model. This represents 90% less than an equivalent model produced today.

To achieve such a result, Renault had to innovate in all aspects of development. This includes the use of low-footprint recycled materials carbonecarboneproduction powered 100% by renewable energiesrenewable energies and a design designed to promote circularity and the second life of components. Inspired by the concept Human First Visionbased on the silhouette of the new Scenic E-Tech, the Renault Emblème goes even further by exploring all the possibilities to reduce its ecological footprintecological footprint.

An innovative dual-energy powertrain

To meet modern mobility requirements, Renault Emblème is introducing an innovative dual-energy engine. This system combines a 40 kWh battery, a size similar to a second generation Zoé, for daily journeys and a fuel cellfuel cell. This configuration hybridhybrid allows you to combine the advantages of carcar 100% electric with those of extended autonomy thanks to hydrogen.

Concretely, the 40 kWh battery makes it possible to cover daily trips while being able to be recharged at night at home, while the fuel cell, associated with a 2.8 kilo hydrogen tank, makes it possible to extend the autonomy up to 350 kilometers. This allows you to fill the tank in just five minutes, just like a classic thermal car. This is the second hydrogen vehicle presented by the manufacturer in recent weeks after its Renault Master utility vehicle.

The 160 kW (220 horsepower) wound rotor electric motor does not use rare earths according to the manufacturer. It is installed on the AmpR Medium platform, optimized to ensure ideal distribution of massesmasses and a center of gravitygravity bas.

A design combining elegance and efficiency

On the design side, Renault Emblème does not ignore elegance while adopting a stylistic language geared towards efficiency. This family model, of type “ shooting brake ”, stands out for its seductive curves and taut lines. With its length of 4.80 meters, it offers generous and comfortable space for passengers and luggage, while displaying a fluid silhouette.

Its front, characterized by an assertive grille and incisive lines, is reminiscent in certain aspects of Alfa Romeo’s sports models, offering a welcome touch of aggressiveness for a family electric vehicle. This stylestyle bold is accompanied by meticulous work on aerodynamics: the Emblem displays an exceptional drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.25.

The bodywork is enhanced by a dichroic green paint, which subtly changes color depending on the viewing angle, reinforcing the visual appeal of the model. This blend of elegance and technicality shows that Renault can design vehicles with a low carbon footprint while remaining faithful to its ADNADN innovative manufacturer.

Would the Renault Emblème offer the best solution for the travel of the future? By removing the problem of battery life, or at least long battery charging time haute tensionhaute tensionit represents an interesting concept.
