Legal Cafés are for sale again. On Tuesday October 8, the Paris Commercial Court declared the opening of legal recovery proceedings for the Le Havre roaster, the latter indicated in a press release. The company created 173 years ago on the heights of Le Havre is in debt. Commercial activity remains intact.
“In order to protect Cafés Legal, and in order to preserve its assets, the company’s management took action before the Paris Commercial Court on September 16 to declare insolvencypaving the way for legal recovery, details the company. The Cafés Legal, created in 1851, had survived the collapse of the Michel Oyon empire in 2022. Briefly bought by the Bordeaux businessman (which had also acquired Camaïeu, Go Sport and 26 Galeries Lafayette stores in the regions), the Le Havre factory which employs 105 employees was taken over last June by the FNB investment fund, specializing in agri-food SMEs, also buyer of Mousseline puree.
