Bringing a Renault 17 up to date? What was only an aspiration when Arnaud Belloni arrived as marketing director of the diamond firm, if not a challenge launched during a late-night discussion, has finally come to fruition. From an R17 coupe belonging to its museum, Renault therefore joined forces with designer Ora-ïto, who is none other than the son of jeweler Pascal Morabito, to give birth to a “restomod”. This anglicism hides a car from the past modernized and equipped with current technologies. Renault has become a fan of this type of exercise. In 2022, the R5 Turbo 3E concept had rekindled the flame of the famous R5 Turbo which had marked the 1980s.
