The Livret A is undoubtedly the preferred savings solution for the French. Most households have it because of its many advantages for growing savings. But for 2025, things could change. What can I do to continue saving effectively? Answers!

Change in rate for Livret A

The year 2025 does not bring good news for holders of a Livret A account. This savings product offered an attractive interest rate until then. As we speak, it is still 3%which allows savers to make an attractive profit. But things could change in the coming months!

Note that the interest rate on Livret A fluctuates depending on different factors. Inflation is one of them. And while the latter has been in constant decline for some time, this savings product is suffering the consequences. In fact, the interest rate frozen until January 2025 will no longer necessarily be the same. A change that you will have to prepare for so as not to lose money.

This reduction in the Livret A rate is planned for the month of February 2025. Note that inflation was 5% before beginning its meteoric decline. For the coming year, experts estimate a rate of 2%. Thus, the remuneration of this savings product will follow the pace and drop considerably.

Experts recommend in particular turn to the LDDS or sustainable and inclusive development booklet. Its rate will be 3% until January 2025 and despite the drop, it remains very attractive.

But there is also the Housing Savings Plan or PEL. The rate of this savings product is 2%. If you subscribe before the planned reduction for Livret A, you will gain a certain stability in its remuneration. The latter is ideal for medium or long term savings.
