Six companies from the Guadeloupe Hub join the 2024-2025 class of Phare, the social incubator of the CMA CGM Foundation

The 20 selected projects are distributed as follows: 10 in , 6 in Guadeloupe and 4 in Ivory Coast. For nine months, the winners will benefit from personalized support including a coworking space, mentoring provided by employees of the CMA CGM group, as well as access to the Foundation’s network of partners. The support is part of an approach to strengthening social innovation, particularly in the areas of education and the fight against poverty. Among the selected projects, seven are specifically dedicated to the fight against food and cultural poverty.

This year, for the first time, a joint call for projects was launched simultaneously by the 3 Phare hubs, located in Marseille, Guadeloupe and Ivory Coast. For this new promotion, the unique format attracted more than 100 applications from around the world. The selected projects will benefit from tailor-made support for a period of 9 months. Thanks to the support of the CMA CGM Foundation, this support includes access to a coworking space, daily monitoring, as well as mentoring provided by committed CMA CGM employees. In addition, project leaders will have the opportunity to be put in touch with potential partners via the vast network of the CMA CGM Group and its Foundation.

The 20 projects selected this year offer a diversity of approaches and themes. In addition to educational innovation, which remains a fundamental pillar of the Phare, 7 projects are specifically dedicated to the fight against food and cultural insecurity, a central axis of the actions of the CMA CGM Foundation. In addition, among this new cohort, 13 projects are associative.

The overseas winners of the Pointe-à-Pitre Hub

Karukera Sciences, aims to raise awareness of scientific sectors in partnership with the space station in Guyana. Les petits mots de Coco, to promote personal development through creative writing workshops in schools in Guadeloupe. Nouveaux Regards Texte, to develop and promote contemporary and future Caribbean cinema. Three entrepreneurial projects led by young people from the Adapted Military Service Foundation’s integration programs, to support a return to employment: The creation of a restaurant in ; The establishment of a chicken farm at the Darras farm; The operation of a market garden on the Dugazon estate.

Review of previous promotions

Since its creation in 2021, Le Phare has already supported 55 entrepreneurs through three promotions. Some previously incubated projects have received notable distinctions, including Jules Sitruk (Protis Club), ranked in the Forbes 30Under30, and Olivier Oullier (Inclusive Brains), awarded the Inventor of the Year prize by Les Échos.

Chaired by Tanya Saadé Zeenny, the CMA CGM Foundation has been committed to supporting initiatives in the fields of education and equal opportunities since 2005. Through Le Phare, it continues its commitment to professional integration and support for projects with a strong social impact in Marseille, the Antilles and Ivory Coast.
