A few empty cells, grassy spaces awaiting new signs, buildings under construction… the ZAC of Saint-Mard will welcome new names.

Wednesday, September 18, 2024, it is the Danish brand Jysk which opened its doors to customers. Specializing in home furnishings and beddingthis store is the third in the department only, after Coulommiers and Varennes-sur-Seine.

Now, “there is only one small cell left,” emphasizes the mayor of Saint-Mard, Daniel Dometz, pleased to see that the zone is functioning well.

The DIY store needs to be replaced

The only downside, and not the least, is the closure of the DIY store Bricocash. The huge blue building, visible from the Nationale 2, has been waiting for several months for a buyer to take over the site.

While waiting for the budding DIY enthusiasts in the area to be able to equip themselves again, a garden center will be set up, very close to the Norauto garage. The brand Gamm Vertwho had left the Longperrier area, with the intention of settling in Saint-Mard but had finally given up, before becoming interested in the place again. The building permit has been filed, the work should begin in a few weeks. But the opening should not take place before 2026.

Paddle board, karting and a function room

On both sides of the commercial zone, building permits continue to flourish.

Very close to the Carrefour hypermarket, a building attracts the attention of customers. It is impossible to miss it, it is so imposing. It must be said that it will soon house a leisure area, bringing together two paddle courtsa very fashionable sport, and a karting whose vehicles will be electric.

A second building will also soon be built. “We are building a new function room “, says Daniel Dometz, who continues: “I had promised to no longer use the Tournelles room, because of the nuisance it causes for local residents. But we need a new room.”

The future structure will not belong to the town hall, but to the developer who will rent it to the municipality. In turn, the municipality will rent this space, but “only to residents. We will also organize shows “, assures the mayor. It will also be a little larger than that of the Tournelles, with a capacity of 300 to 350 seatsIt should be completed by the end of 2025.

Another space dedicated to leisure will also be created nearby: a structure housing three indoor football fields.
