A castle for sale in Cap d’Antibes: the procedure is “exceptional, exceptional”. The Château de la Garoupe, visible from afar off Cap d’Antibes, had been confiscated in 2015 from Russian businessman Boris Berezovsky.
The sale is managed by the agency for the management and recovery of seized and confiscated assets (AGRASC), a public body dependent on the Ministry of Justice and Public Accounts. The funds from this sale will go to the State.
The call for applications will be launched from June 16 to July 17, 2023. A first decision on the admissibility of applications will be announced in mid-August. The AGRASC notary in charge of the sale must ensure, after an inquiry and investigations, the reliability of potential buyers. In a second step, if the application is accepted, visits will be organized for the candidates and price offers may be offered.
No price is set before the auction.
