The World Burger Contestan international competition that brings together the best burger talents at the Sirha show in Lyon, has kept all its promises!
It was in a supercharged atmosphere, Friday January 24, that representatives from seven different countries (France, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Ivory Coast, United States and Belgium) redoubled their efforts and creativity to achieve the best traditional, vegetarian and sweet burger.
Louis-Gautier Lepers obtains first place in the World Burger Contest
After three hours of intense culinary creation, it is therefore French Louis-Gautier Leperschef of the restaurant “Papa Renard” in Morzine (Haute-Savoie), which won the first place !
Already vice-champion in 2023, this time he conquered first place, also winning the prize for the best sweet burger. “It’s a great reward for hard work”emphasized Christian Têtedoieemblematic Lyon chef and sponsor of the competition.
-Next to him on the podium, another Frenchman: Lionel Ravelwho shone with his second place by winning the prizes for the best vegetarian burger, the best traditional burger, as well as the regional prize “Ma Région, Ses Terroirs”, having brilliantly paid tribute to the local products of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
World Burger Contest: chef Mohamed Abaragh wins the Public Prize
The third step of the podium was occupied by Ahmed Traorean Ivorian candidate who participated in the competition for the first time.
The Moroccan chef Mohamed Abaragh was elected for the Public Prize, rewarding its burger, which was popular on social networks.
