France displays its ambitions for AI
The announcement was made by Anne Bouverot, special envoy of the President of the Republic on AI, in an interview for the gallery Sunday from Davos, Switzerland.
The project provides for the creation of a foundation in Paris and dedicated to the development of AI “In the service of the general interest”. The structure will be created as part of the World Summit on AI organized by France, in early February 2025. The Foundation aims to collect 500 million euros this year according to Anne Bouverot.
The foundation will be responsible for centralizing data of general interest, especially in the health field. The structure will set up a confidence framework to allow access to data in several ways: free for researchers, low price for start-ups and paying for private players.
The highest point of the Paris Summit will be the diplomatic meeting at the Grand Palais, on February 10 and 11. There will be three main objectives: constitute a coalition for a sustainable AI, to sign the participating countries in a joint declaration on the need for international governance and the announcement of the installation of new data centers in France.
-The event will be co-chaired by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Sam Altman, co -founder of Openai to whom we owe Chatgpt, will be present. Representatives of China and the United States have not yet confirmed their presence.
