The consumer association also calls for “a parliamentary commission of inquiry facing the persistent gray areas in the more than chaotic management of the Takata airbag scandal”. Given the scale “from the scandal and dysfunctions observed, both by manufacturers and public authorities”, UFC-Que Choisir “finally puts on notice the company Automobiles Citroën to immediately compensate the victim owners for all damages linked to the forced immobilization of their vehicle”we can read in this press release.

The complaint is filed with the public prosecutor. Almost two years after the first recall campaigns in France, the UFC-Que Choisir regrets “the absence of announcement by the public authorities of a global investigation into the origin and responsibilities of this scandal, mainly involving the Stellantis group and Citroën”. Ce “is no longer acceptable”, denounces the UFC-Que Choisir.

There is “chaotic management” of this matter “with disregard for human lives”. The association also urges parliamentarians “to create this “commission of inquiry in order to collect all the elements of information allowing to clarify the responsibilities of each of the actors in the organization and management of this new automobile scandal in France”.
