Two passengers on a Flixbus company coach filed a complaint after spending the night in a bus, stranded in the Futuroscope parking lot (Vienna), without heating, “ici Poitou” learned on Tuesday, January 21, confirming information from The New Republic. The Poitiers public prosecutor's office confirmed Tuesday evening that it had received these two complaints and specified that an investigation for “failure to assist a person in danger” was opened.
-The 35 passengers of a Flixbus, which was to connect Paris to Lisbon, spent the night from Sunday January 19 to Monday January 20, in the parking lot of the Futuroscope station, due to a technical problem. They remained in the bus with the door open and without heating, reports “ici Poitou”.
The mayor of Chasseneuil-du-Poitou, the neighboring town, was alerted Monday morning shortly before 9 a.m. by the gendarmes. Claude Eidelstein relates that “34 adults and a 5-year-old child were in distress.” According to the firefighters, five passengers were hypothermic during their intervention, two had to be hospitalized at the Poitiers University Hospital, according to the mayor.
The passengers were then taken to a heated community hall while waiting for the replacement bus, which did not arrive “only at 6:15 p.m.” on Monday evening, according to Claude Eidelstein, more than 20 hours late.
