The actions accused of this citizen of Shawinigan took place in this city on October 6, 2023. According to the legal document consulted by The Nouvellistewho describes himself as an apothecary, among other things, diagnosed illnesses during a consultation with a patient and prescribed medications and other substances.
These actions are reserved for people registered on the roll of the College of Physicians and holders of a valid and appropriate permit.
Paul Guérin had previously asked judge Ghislain Lavigne to postpone his trial, as he was awaiting evidence to ensure his defense. As the attorney for the College of Physicians of Quebec, Me Alex Vandal-Milette, was ready to proceed, the College’s evidence was filed in April, the trial date was set in September and Ms.’s request for postponement Guérin did not meet the deadlines for such a request, the judge suggested that both parties take 30 minutes to discuss all of this.
Both parties returned to the judge with a settlement agreement. By pleading guilty to three charges, Paul Guérin will have to pay fines totaling $19,000 in addition to certain other costs. The judge gives him 24 months to pay the bill.
On his Facebook page, Paul Guérin shares testimonials from people who have used his services, notably consuming certain liquid solutions. One person says, among other things, that her 24-year-old daughter is experiencing a recurrence of cancer diagnosed five years previously.
